Halfway through 2023, I started to feel a strong calling to dedicate myself to non-profit work, specifically working in alignment with my Lord and Saviour Jesus. Although I had already been working with this attitude I felt that working for profit and career progression was no longer where I wanted to invest my time and talents.
My calling is not to progress my career and make more money, but to benefit others. With all the experience and knowledge I have gained in over 20 years of IT Support, website building, cybersecurity, management, and entrepreneurialism, I want to invest it in others.
Also, I've been a son, brother, husband, father, friend. I have lost loved ones, I have struggled in parenting, learned through disability, and been tested in mental health. I have lived without faith and with faith, I have looked for answers in science and experience as well as in God.
I am very far from "knowing it all" or "having all the answers" but I am definitely relatable, and willing to relate.
I’m glad you asked! I intend to not have to charge the users anything. Now, I say "intend" because some elements of the service will require funding. Where possible I will always ask partners to provide funding so that users are not charged.
I am very blessed to have the support of the church I'm a member of, Disciples Church, as well as my previous employer Pro Drive IT. I'm hopeful that others will come aboard also.
Because my Lord Jesus taught me that it is more blessed to give than to receive. So, in other words, I’m just being selfish 😊. Chasing the blessing. I see this as the most rewarding and fulfilling thing I can do with the IT knowledge I have, and so, I would rather chase the blessing than the money.
"What if people of other faith, or no faith, feel uncomfortable or offended?"
I don’t wish to offend anyone, I welcome and respect all people and I want to help people from all walks of life. However, I cannot deny who I am, a follower of Jesus, and I cannot live for anything, or anyone else, but for Him. So, I will do this also for Jesus, and if, by his grace, I can do it successfully, I assure you that it will be a very inclusive and loving venture.
